Sophie offers a range of hypnotherapy services both in person in Surrey RH8 and the surrounding areas, and also online. Hypnotherapy is available for a range of different challenges, such as managing grief, overcoming phobias and fears, making positive life changes such as quitting smoking or developing healthy eating habits, as well as building self-esteem and motivation.

Held on Zoom, or offered as a telephone call if you prefer, this Discovery Call is an opportunity to explore if hypnotherapy is the right therapeutic option for you. You will be invited to provide a top-line summary of your issues and can ask any questions you may have about hypnotherapy.
There is no obligation to book as a result of this call. If you choose to proceed you will be sent a Hypnotherapy Consultation Form and Contract to complete prior to your Initial Consultation.
Attending an Initial Consultation appointment after completion of the Hypnotherapy Consultation Form is required, unless you are seeking support with Smoking Cessation.
At this extended appointment your answers on the Hypnotherapy Consultation and Consent Form will be explored in more detail, to gain more detailed insights into your presenting issue(s).
You will be invited to collaborate on the design of your bespoke Treatment Plan if relevant, to ensure this meets your needs.
Please note that at your Initial Consultation appointment, depending on your preference and/or the therapeutic suitability, you will receive a hypnosis for your presenting issue, or a deep meditation session so that you can experience hypnosis without suggestions.
For Smoking Cessation you are offered a 2-hour appointment where your relationship with smoking is explored in more detail before you are hypnotised and suggestions given to help you to break your reliance on smoking, whether tobacco or vaping.
You do not need to attend an Initial Consultation as well, as this is included within this appointment.
Depending on your therapeutic requirement recommended treatment plans are available, and these will be discussed with you at your initial consultation. Treatment plans will typically be 4-6 sessions and developed to be bespoke to your needs. Any treatment plan will be agreed in your contract before initiating the sessions.
On completion of a treatment plan or Smoking Cessation session, up to 2 additional top-up sessions for the same therapeutic presentation are available at a reduced price and session duration, as we are able to get straight into the hypnotherapy. These can only be accessed up to 6 months after completion of the initial therapy.
Should your presentation require simply one or two sessions you may prefer to do this outside of a fixed treatment plan offering you more flexibility. Or you may prefer to experience hypnotherapy without committing to a treatment plan. These sessions are pay as you go, and you are able to transition over to a treatment plan at any time if preferred.
Prior to your Initial Consultation you will be required to complete a Hypnotherapy Contract to provide your agreement to the Terms & Conditions.

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic practice in which gentle suggestions are made to the subconscious mind while you are in a hypnotic state. The suggestions help to rewire your thinking and are used to overcomes specific issues, challenges, or negative mindsets. These suggestions can only be accepted if you are willing and ready to accept them. You cannot take on suggestions you do not agree with. Hypnotherapy is particularly helpful for addressing habits, fears, emotional challenges, and for supporting personal growth.
Being guided into a hypnotic state is very much like following a guided meditation. Contrary to common myths, hypnosis is a natural state of awareness, and you always remain in control. The experience of hypnotherapy is individual and personal; however, some people will feel like they remember every word that is spoken whereas others feel like they have been asleep. Either of these experiences is completely normal, however most people feel a combination of sleepiness and full awareness and generally find hypnotherapy to be a calming and relaxing experience.
Hypnotherapy is a powerful technique, although everyone’s experience will be different. Being open to the process, feeling motivated to change the habits or behaviours you are choosing to address will typically make your hypnotherapy experience more effective, whereas hypnotherapy is less likely to be successful in people who feel very sceptical and actively resist the process.
At your Initial Consultation, we will explore your presenting concern(s) more deeply than at your Discovery Call, using the answers you provide on the Consultation and Consent Form. This helps to frame the reasons you are seeking hypnotherapy, so that Sophie can learn how best to approach your treatment. We will also use this appointment to create your personalised Treatment Plan to tailor your sessions to your specific needs, goals, and experiences. Everyone’s challenges and aspirations are unique, so having a structured approach allows us to focus on what is most important to you.
By setting clear and achievable goals, we can track your progress and make sure that our sessions are aligned with your expectations. This also ensures that you remain actively involved in your own hypnotherapy journey, giving you a sense of ownership and empowerment throughout the process.
The focus of the sessions within your Treatment Plan is flexible and can be adjusted as we move forward, allowing us to respond to any changes in your progress or new insights that may emerge. This way, we can ensure that hypnotherapy remains effective and relevant to your needs.
Additionally, having a plan in place helps to maintain a safe and ethical approach, ensuring that your well-being is always the priority. If you have any concerns or specific areas you would like to focus on, we will discuss them together so that the Treatment Plan truly reflects what will support you best.
For most issues around 6 sessions can result in the best results. However, your Treatment Plan can be less or more sessions, depending on your needs. We will discuss this at your Initial Consultation to find a plan that works well for you.
At your Initial Consultation session, after your treatment plan has been discussed, you will be invited to undergo hypnosis. At all further appointments the hypnosis will take place after an initial conversation reflecting on your experience since the last appointment.
When ready, and always with your consent, you will be invited to lay on the treatment bed/couch and will be given a blanket to keep warm. Gentle meditative music will be playing to create a gentle ambiance and to help focus the mind, helping to take you gently relax.
Sophie will guide you into a deeper relaxed state with a guided meditation and then lead you into a hypnotic state. When you are under hypnosis, suggestions that are personalised to you and in line with your Treatment Plan will be spoken to you.
On completion of the suggestions, you will be brought out of the hypnotic state and given a little time to land back into the present before the end of your session. By the end of your session time, you will be fully alert and able to conduct yourself normally, including being able to drive if necessary.
Please either email through your completed Consultation and Consent form prior to the Initial Consultation session or if your Initial Consultation is in person you can bring a printed and signed copy with you.
You may wish to have a bottle of water with you at your appointments, but otherwise you do not need to bring anything specific to your sessions.
If you are engaging in several sessions, you might find it helpful to journal your experiences of the sessions and anything that comes up for you between the sessions. Please bring any notes with you that may help you reflect on your experiences at the start of the sessions.
You may prefer to wear something unrestrictive and comfortable so that you feel as relaxed as possible during your hypnotherapy sessions.
